This story from Wales<\/a> is quite disturbing. The case is ongoing, so I won\u2019t make any personal judgements just yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert James Delabertouche is alleged to have told a female pupil that he would \u201cput her over his knee and spank her\u201d. He is also alleged to have regularly put his hand on her knee \u201cto help her with clutch control\u201d, and to have made \u201coverly friendly comments\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delabertouche denies 10 charges of sexual assault against five women.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I suppose I\u2019d better be careful when I joke with pupils that if they \u201cdo that again\u201d I\u2019ll make them walk home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Update:<\/strong> Delabertouche was found guilty<\/a>. He was cleared of two offences, but convicted of eight others. He is to be sentenced in January, and the judge reckons a community order or suspended sentence is likely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
