Every little helps.<\/p>\n<p>The appeal has raised over \u00a313m in less than 24 hours \u2013 which dwarfs China\u2019s contribution of about \u00a362,000. In contrast, Japan and Australia have both given over \u00a36m. Britain has pledged about \u00a310m so far. All these latter countries are also providing physical aid.<\/p>\n<p>Over 2,000 people are already confirmed dead, but millions are without housing or food as a result of Typhoon Yolanda. Around 80,000 homes have been totally destroyed.
