The law applies to every driver, including those aged 17 and those with a provisional driving licence.<\/p>\n<p>The law does not apply if the driver is 17 years old and is on their own in the car.<\/p>\n<p>The law is changing to protect children and young people from the dangers of secondhand smoke.<\/p>\n<p>Find out more at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/smokefreecars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.gov.uk\/smokefreecars<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I agree with it \u2013 nothing annoys me more than seeing people smoking with kids in the car.
