Download either the <a title=\"32-bit KB3087040 installer\" href=\"http:\/\/download.windowsupdate.com\/d\/msdownload\/update\/software\/secu\/2015\/09\/windows10.0-kb3087040-x86_86b760ce3097391e6896df374d69aff46b769b02.msu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">32-bit<\/a> or <a title=\"64-bit KB3087040 installer\" href=\"http:\/\/download.windowsupdate.com\/d\/msdownload\/update\/software\/secu\/2015\/09\/windows10.0-kb3087040-x64_ad0f78efb7b122fa9472dbb8050c4f358aceab49.msu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">64-bit<\/a> installer (use the link that is relevant to your system) and run it. Then run Windows Update again just to make sure the KB3087040 install is confirmed \u2013 it should now report that your machine is up to date and checking your update history will show a successful install.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, the update installs on Windows 7 and 8 system with no trouble.
