I stress that this occurred AFTER the comedians doing the searching had voted.<\/p>\n<p>It also <a title=\"After Brexit Vote, Britain Asks Google: 'What Is The EU?'\" href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/alltechconsidered\/2016\/06\/24\/480949383\/britains-google-searches-for-what-is-the-eu-spike-after-brexit-vote\">appears that further searches after the polls closed<\/a> included \u201cwhat is the EU\u201d and \u201cwhich countries are in the EU\u201d. Also trending was \u201cwhat is brexit\u201d and \u201care we european\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Londoners <a title=\"GoogleTrends\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GoogleTrends?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\">have shown an increased interest<\/a> in moving to Gibraltar, whilst there has been an increase in those seeking to obtain an Irish passport.<\/p>\n<p>The guy from the first link has the same opinion as me \u2013 that there should never have been a referendum in the first place because understanding the issues and implications was beyond the wit of 95% of the electorate.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Arguably too complex for the average citizen. Referendums are a brute-force political engine, a numbers game designed to spit out a yes or no answer on a simple question.
