{"id":2239,"date":"2010-03-03T20:01:25","date_gmt":"2010-03-03T20:01:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diaryofanadi.co.uk\/?p=2239"},"modified":"2010-03-03T20:01:25","modified_gmt":"2010-03-03T20:01:25","slug":"driving-examiner-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diaryofanadi.co.uk\/?p=2239","title":{"rendered":"Driving Examiner Strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This has been talked about for a couple of weeks, but at the test centre today it would appear that not all ADIs are aware of it.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an email alert\u00a0that I received from the DSA today:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Driving examiner strike &#8211; candidates to attend tests<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union is asking its members to take strike action on Monday and Tuesday, 8 and 9 March.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">If you have a driving test booked for either day, we ask you to attend as scheduled.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">We won\u2019t know the effects of the strikes until the day as not all of our examiners and staff are members of the union.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">We don\u2019t know at this stage who will attend for work, which is why we ask that you arrive for your test regardless.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">You don\u2019t need to do anything and there is no need to contact DSA.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">If you can\u2019t take a test because of the action, you will have the test rebooked automatically, free of charge, and an appointment confirmation will be sent by email or post.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">If your new appointment isn\u2019t suitable you can change it online at  <a title=\"Directgov: driving tests\" href=\"http:\/\/links.govdelivery.com\/track?type=click&amp;enid=bWFpbGluZ2lkPTczNTUyMCZtZXNzYWdlaWQ9UFJELUJVTC03MzU1MjAmZGF0YWJhc2VpZD0xMDAxJnNlcmlhbD0xMjE1NzAyNDYzJmVtYWlsaWQ9bWFydGluLmFhYWRpQG50bHdvcmxkLmNvbSZ1c2VyaWQ9bWFydGluLmFhYWRpQG50bHdvcmxkLmNvbSZleHRyYT0mJiY=&amp;&amp;&amp;100&amp;&amp;&amp;http:\/\/direct.gov.uk\/drivingtest\"> direct.gov.uk\/drivingtest<\/a><span style=\"color: #000080;\">.\u00a0 <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Nottingham seems to get away without much disruption (well, it has in the past) &#8211; it all depends on whether examiners are members of the PCS Union or not. The wording of this alert also suggests that even PCS\u00a0members may not comply with the request for action.<\/p>\n<p>Just turn up for test as usual.
