It\u2019s 35 years since Back To The Future was released, and this book &#8211; We Don&#8217;t Need Roads: The Making of the Back to the Future Trilogy \u2013 is the in-depth story of how it was made, with interviews with all the writers, cast, and crew. I was interested immediately, because I always wanted to know the truth about why Eric Stoltz \u2013 the original Marty \u2013 was recast with Michael J. Fox.<\/p>\n<p>I found out about the book from an MSN newsfeed item, where fans have been arguing about whether any of Stoltz remains in the films (apparently, they reckon it\u2019s Stoltz\u2019s fist when he punches Biff in the caf\u00e9). The book doesn\u2019t answer that, but it\u2019s a damned good read.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s 268 pages devoted to one of the best movie trilogies \u2013 certainly of the 80s \u2013 of all time. And best of all, as well as paperback there\u2019s also a Kindle edition (which is the one I bought).
