In it, they outline measures for handling the increased demand for tests.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DVSA Alert: Mobile Emergency Testing\" href=\"https:\/\/www.diaryofanadi.co.uk\/?p=25638\">I wrote recently that only specific key workers can still get tests<\/a>. This email doesn\u2019t make it clear in regards the time frames based on the key worker situation, but I am assuming that it means once we can all start working again. To that end, <a title=\"Civil Service Jobs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk\/csr\/index.cgi?SID=b3duZXJ0eXBlPWZhaXImcGFnZWNsYXNzPUpvYnMmdXNlcnNlYXJjaGNvbnRleHQ9MTIwMTcxNDE4JnBhZ2VhY3Rpb249c2VhcmNoYnljb250ZXh0aWQmb3duZXI9NTA3MDAwMCZyZXFzaWc9MTYxMjk3NjU1MS0yZjMyMDA3MzVmMzRjNDhmMDU4MDZjZWIyZTZhM2FkNzgzMDdlOGIy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">they are running a recruitment campaign for driving examiners<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So if the last 12 months has put you off being self-employed, that might be something to consider.<\/p>\n<p>One key point in the email is that DVSA says:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>How to reduce waiting times<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We also need support from you, your pupils and our examiners to help us reduce driving test waiting times&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It is vital that your pupils are test-ready when rearranging their tests, as tests could be at short notice.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I know it will fall on a lot of deaf ears, but since most pupils &#8211; even those who <strong>were<\/strong> test ready &#8211; haven\u2019t driven since March 2020, there\u2019s just an incey-wincey chance that booking a test for them as soon as you can get one is going to backfire, because they won\u2019t <strong>still<\/strong> be test ready.<\/p>\n<p>I guess the upside to that (for some people) will be that if their little darlings fail, they can then blame DVSA about the length of time for the next test, the reason they failed, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>Plus \u00e7a change&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An email alert from DVSA came through today.
