I welcome comments about the site and enjoy answering readers’ queries and offering advice. I will also fix any reported bugs on the site. But be warned: anyone abusing the form will have their IP address reported to their ISP immediately.
All form submissions are spam-checked, so watch your language otherwise they might get binned before I see them.
If you ask me a detailed question, there is a good chance my reply will be several paragraphs long, often even including annotated photographs. If I am taking the time to help you, it is only reasonable for me to expect that you confirm you have received the reply – ideally, with more than just a couple of words. After all, me answering a detailed questioned with a 500-word answer and half an hour or more of my time falls a bit flat if I don’t get an acknowledgement – or if the only response is ‘thanks’.
And a note to any spammers or bad typists: please make sure you type your email address correctly. If the address is wrong, or doesn’t exist, I will simply not receive the message. Ever. At all. Period. So you are wasting your time. Assuming your message is relevant, I will usually acknowledge it with a brief response if a longer reply is needed.
Important: If you asked a sensible question and don’t get a response from me, please try again. I check my spam folders daily, but sometimes messages just don’t come through. I do not ignore genuine questions or messages.
Finally, anyone thinking of offering me SEO, guest posts, or AI-written articles (Eric Jones, in particular, is a major spammer) – don’t waste your time. Akismet sends them straight into the bin and I never see them. My SEO is fine, thanks. And I am more than capable of writing my own content, and see little reason to publish off-topic posts promoting other people’s activities for free.
